Twist the key and the smooth mill rumbles to life, sending its bass notes down a 2.5-inch exhaust which bellows from dual stainless tips. Goose the throttle and 9.8 to 1 compression zings the engine towards redline thanks to a new, more aggressive camshaft. Drop the transmission into gear and the car buckles down into an eager lean with the tension and authority of a coiled snake. Aesthetically the engine bay looks very clean, not equipped with any of the flash you'd expect from a street-wise pony car and appearing, dare I say, much like a sleeper. Straight from Dearborn, the D2C Mustang platform is a very capable foundation that's a true force to be reckoned with. Up front; a Macpherson strut independent suspension houses speed assisted power steering and giant front discs that are clamped by proven factory calipers. Out back; a three link solid axle rear end houses sporty but efficient 3.31 gears and two more factory calipers which clamp equally impressive discs. That suspension is aided by standard antilock brakes and traction control that are both very welcome if you use this car anywhere near its potential. Spent gases are whisked away by a factory true dual exhaust system which sounds aggressive even at idle. Sending the engines power to the ground is a slick shifting 4-speed automatic transmission which is as much fun in traffic as it is on entrance ramps. And all this proven hardware rides on awesome 18 inch chrome Saleen wheels which spin super sticky 245/40 Hankook Ventus radials around standard chrome lug nuts.
Inside the car, you'll find a comfortable and stylish cockpit that's ready for impressive sunsets and long road trips. At the center of the car, highly bolstered Saleen sport bucket seats fit like a glove.
