Description

We've featured some amazing Camaro pro-tourers over the past few months, and this LS1 powered F1 Super Sport is the latest in a long line of metal that seems to come in, spend one weekend being universally admired, and then disappear to a new home. By definition, these cars are virtually irresistible because pro-touring is all about combining modern performance with vintage style; and who doesn't love a classic that mixes the best attributes of old-school Detroit muscle with the killer performance of new age Detroit muscle? As a professionally built custom that delivers on every level, this 1969 Camaro Super Sport is the kind of car you simply CAN'T ignore. It cruises like a new Impala, sprints like a modern Corvette and oozes the style and class that made first generation F-bodies the stuff of legend. If you're looking for an ultimate, take-no-prisoners muscle car that's every bit as impressive on the road as it is in the show field, this awesome Camaro is you're ticket!

Recently built into a lean, mean pro-touring machine, this spectacular 1969 Camaro wears a ground-up restoration that features a number of thoughtful upgrades which modernize both its performance and appeal. The car's transformation started with a full, factory-built frame and a solid 1969 Camaro body that had never seen significant rust or significant damage. After some high quality metalwork was performed, every one of that body's panels were aligned to better than factory fit, and all its seams were made narrow and precise. With those well-done panels as close to perfect as possible, a smooth coat of red basecoat paint was sealed in a thick clearcoat shell and buffed to an immaculate shine. The result is one eye catching classic which has major street presence and lethal curb appeal!

When it comes to purity of form, I really can't think of a better looking car than the '69 Camaro Super Sport. And this awesome pro-tourer features a host of subtle upgrades which feel so natural they could've rolled out of GM's Norwood manufacturing facility almost 43 years ago. At the front of the car a black, stainless trimmed grille hangs a traditional white “SS” emblem between satin trimmed Marquez Design headlights. Below that grille, a showroom quality chrome bumper tops modern round parking lights and a traditional D80 front spoiler. And above that grille, a familiar ZL2 hood props custom cross-flag emblems at the base of a like-new windshield that's framed by matte wipers and bright, dent-free stainless trim. Behind that windshield pristine chrome drip rails, which were likely bought new during the car's recent restoration, combine with a fresh set of correct chrome mirrors to perfectly complement dark tinted greenhouse glass. Below that windshield, new stainless rocker spears combine with traditional chrome door handles, fresh chrome “Camaro” scripts and bright Rally Sport fender louvers to add just the right amount of detail to the car's glossy red profile. And at the back of that profile, an option D80 decklid spoiler rides above 1969 Camaro exclusive tail lights, a second white “SS” emblem and a second showroom quality chrome bumper.

If you think the exterior of this car is impressive, you're going to LOVE what's under its hood! Cranking out a smooth 400 horsepower, this Camaro's lightweight, high performance LS1 V8 is widely regarded as one of the best small block V8s ever produced. Straight from GM, it combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor sharp throttle response and lightning quick acceleration. At the front of the engine a modern serpentine system, which is complete with a few chrome pulleys and assorted chrome brackets, spins a rebuilt alternator and a new AC compressor behind a factory air tube that's equipped with a fresh, re-usable filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a factory LS1 throttle body into a factory LS1 intake which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by a GM electronic fuel injection system. Sparks are sequenced through high performance Taylor plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic coated shorty headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a heavy duty Be Cool aluminum radiator that's complete with two large puller fans. Not a detail has been missed under this Camaro's satin black bonnet. Niceties such as braided hoses, silver hood hardware, a polished oil cap and trick braided dipsticks provide just the right amount of flash to give the engine a clean, finished look. And the vicious small block fires right up, idles perfectly and accelerates like a pure-bred race car!

At the bottom of this brutal pro-tourer, a Gforce Performance crossmember props a slick shifting 6-speed manual transmission in front of a custom Ford nine inch rear end. Holding that top notch drivetrain off the ground is solid, boxed rails which ride between Detroit Speed tubular control arms, Koni Classic shocks, a heavy duty front sway bar and welded subframe connectors. Braking is provided by a power four wheel disc system which sends fluid through braided lines to giant Baer front calipers, custom fitted rear calipers and drilled and slotted rotors at every corner. Turns come courtesy of a traditional power steering system which lends a classic car feel to the drivetrain's modern car athleticism. And exhaust is handled by a pair of true dual stainless pipes which send thunder through an X-pipe crossover to great looking, and better sounding, polished Magnaflow mufflers. The car's solid floorpans are clean and freshly restored in a combination of satin black paint and satin black undercoating. All the right details like a fresh stainless fuel tank, fresh stainless hardware and new stainless fuel lines provide fully-sorted reliability. And putting all the LS1's power to the ground is a spectacular set of 18 inch Budnik wheels which spin 245/40 front and 275/40 rear BF Goodrich G-Force T/A radials.

Open this Camaro's solid doors and you'll find a fully restored Houndstooth interior which, in my opinion, is one of the most impressive cockpits to ever roll out of a GM design studio. The custom front bucket and correct rear bench seats feature fresh leather trim, and feel as firm as the day they left the upholstery shop. In front of those seats a pliable and crack-free dash hangs a digital Racepak gauge pod between controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system, a Sony Drive-S CD player and billet accessory knobs. At the sides of those seats, standard black door panels hang pristine stainless trim, new chrome door handles and new chrome window cranks behind modern shoulder belts. And beneath those seats like-new black carpet centers a chrome shifter, which is complete with a white cue ball knob, between four heavy duty rubber floor mats and two custom kick panel speakers. In front of the driver, a graphite gray Budnik steering wheel spins a black rim around a painted tilt steering column that's complete with a full set of billet stalks. And behind the cockpit, a fully restored trunk features a smooth coat of fresh paint and an Optima gel cell battery that's secured by a sturdy billet tie down.

If you're in the market for a pavement bruiser that's a blast to show off and even MORE fun to drive, your search is over. This expertly restored 1969 pro tourer mixes classic Chevrolet looks with a ton of power and some of the best performance hardware on the planet. Why waste years of your valuable time and strain your bank account on a ground-up custom build when you can walk right into our showroom, throw down about half the money you were going to spend and experience just how refreshing instant gratification is?
