2,925 Actual Mile Corvette Roadster 5.7L V8 6 Speed

Visually, the fifth generation Corvette is probably one of the cleanest and most balanced shapes ever introduced. It featured a more rounded and graceful design that recalled the aggressive C3 design without being a blatant copy. This awesome 2,294 original mile C5 left the factory wearing a coat of Millennium Yellow. General Motors introduced the color as a premium paint on the C5 Corvette. Utilizing a three stage process, Millennium Yellow begins with a white basecoat, adds a yellow tint and is finished off with a protective clear coat. The color was an instant hit and made up a large percentage of Corvette sales in the following years. Factory original, this paint is a great factory spray with a bright finish and virtually no defects. It has been meticulously maintained and appears to have never driven through or even sat in rain or inclement weather of any kind. With such low mileage, even rock chips or other common wear issues are out the question here. Panel fitment has come a long way since the early days of the Vette and this '04 is a great reminder of that. All body gaps are even and doors can be shut with a simple push of the finger.

GM designers spent years refining the basic Corvette shape and surface detailing was obviously priority number one. Up front, the wide nose of the car features sculpted air inlets that house combination marker and cornering lamps next to sinister round driving lights. Between the airs intakes, a stamped Corvette tag insert sits below a center-mounted Corvette emblem. The sides of the car are completely free of ornamentation and disruptions with everything from the body colored mirrors to the factory radiused wheel openings whittled to give this car its slick 0.29 coefficient of drag. Razor sharp trim runs from the traditional front fender air extractors to under the body colored door handles and aligns perfectly with oval marker lights behind the tires on the rear fenders. Wind flows around the all original, like-new glass to a smoothed hatch that features another pristine Corvette emblem. Behind that emblem, the familiar convex Corvette rear panel features stamped Corvette script between four oval brake lights. Clear reverse lights border the tag and sit above four centered stainless exhaust tips.

Flip the hood forward and you'll find one of GM's venerable 5.7 liter LS1 V8s. In 2003, these engines were making a nice, round 350 horsepower and a serious 375 pounds of torque. Stuffed into a Corvette, the engine delivers astounding performance, incredible fuel efficiency, and signature howl at full throttle. Straight from GM, the V8 combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor sharp throttle response and lightning quick acceleration. At the front of the engine, a modern serpentine system, which is complete spins the alternator and AC compressor behind a factory air tube. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a factory LS1 throttle body into a factory LS1 intake which is bolted down over completely stock internals. The bay is clean and the engine starts like as quickly and reliable as any other modern car. With just 2,924 original miles, this Vette's best cruising years are still ahead!

Peer undercar and find a mostly flat undercarriage that remains showroom fresh thanks to its limited road time. Behind the LS1, a six-speed manual transmission allows quick and efficient selection of gears before sending power down the line to a limited slip differential packed with 3.42 gears. These cars were designed as a convertible first and coupe second meaning there are absolutely no compromises when it comes to handling. Up front, an A-arm configurations keeps the tires planted while the back end is held in place by another set of A-arms aided by toe links, a transverse composite leaf spring and a sway bar. Quick ratio power steering helps minimize effort in turns while the brake pedal clamps down 12.6-inch rotors up front and 11.6-inch rotors out back. GM did a great job making sure the right pedal was just as strong as the left on these C5's! In front of those brakes, the attractive wheel and tire package consists of 17-inch five spokes up front and 18's out back.

Inside, this C5 Corvette's all-black leather interior is in great condition and shows little if any wear at all. Obviously well-maintained by a fastidious owner, the power seats look firm and comfortable and the black dash is sports car basic but features a number of luxury items to make your trip as enjoyable as it is quick. Above the console, dual zone climate control adds comfort while a Delco cassette player, complete with speed compensated volume, controls the cars 12 disc CD changer. At the side of the steering wheel, you'll find cruise control and at the top of the cowl, GM's renowned Heads Up Display projects vital instrumentation onto the windshield. The pristine door panels feature power windows, power door locks, power mirrors with memory settings and excellent Bose speakers. At your right hand, in front of the locking console, you'll find controls for the Active Handling traction control. Behind the seats, a cargo area which is large enough to stow the cars roof panel, features yellow carpet with a great looking stitched Corvette logo.
