Flashy muscle cars are fun, and crazy customs are nice, but there's really nothing cooler than well-done '50s Americana. Comfortable, polished and acutely detailed, classic Chevrolets just ooze style. And this striking Chevy 210 is a carefully restored stunner that mixes 5.7 liters of LS6 small block with a professional grade driveline and striking leather upholstery. If you're looking for a first-class collector car that's road ready, show-ready and just plain fun, here's the perfect way to enjoy the scene!
BODY
Delightfully vintage and decidedly fresh, this slick 210 wears a unique combination of Onyx and Crocus Yellow 2-stage that, while fully congruent with '50s pastels, has no problem standing out on a crowded show field. That high quality Sikkens pigment adorns a solid profile that was massaged in to shape by legendary restorer Nunu Lowery of Chattanooga, Tennessee. According to the car's previous owner, that profile was a rust-free shell that, during its 2007 rebirth, required no panel replacement. That mirrorless fuselage bends polished stainless and fresh chrome around tinted glass, a power antenna and factory nail guards. And today, this Chevy rolls as one fantastic tri-five that creates a 1-car parade everywhere it goes!
ENGINE
This sweet-looking sedan is powered by a smooth Gen III LS6 that provides plenty of solid, reliable motivation. Straight from the factory, the racy mill utilizes 346 cubic inches of displacement to twist buff 10.5 to 1 compression into 405 horsepower and 400 lb./ft. of Oak-shaking torque. At the front of the all-aluminum block, a GM serpentine drive spins a fresh alternator and modern AC compressor behind a polished, “LS6” branded air cleaner. Once air enters that box, it flows through a factory throttle body to a factory intake that's bolted down over correct 243 heads and completely stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through reliable Packard plug wires. Spent gases swirl through coated shorty headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a polished aluminum radiator that's centered between a polished cap and a big SPAL puller fan. On the visual end of the spectrum, a color-keyed engine compartment centers custom, “Chevrolet” branded rail covers on clean, Cast Silver castings. And niceties like a polished latch, billet hood supports and trick dipsticks add a tailored feel to quality assembly.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
During its frame-off restoration, this 210's tough factory bones were replaced with a Corvette-inspired Newman Car Creations chassis that cradles power rack-and-pinion steering in aluminum control arms and a sturdy Vette Brakes & Products spring. In the middle of that powder-coated skeleton, a hydraulic clutch kicks a familiar Tremec 6-speed, which spins a familiar Dana pumpkin that's equipped with a posi-traction differential and big, 4.11 gears. Braking is handled by four GM calipers and 13-inch EradiSpeed rotors. Spent gases rumble through coated pipes and coated turbo mufflers. Stainless fluid lines, stainless hardware and a stainless fuel tank, installed during the restoration, show little to no weathering. And everything rolls on mirrored, fifth-generation Corvette-style wheels, which spin 235/55R17 Michelin Energys in front of 255/55R17 Firestone Firehawk GTAs.
INTERIOR
Featuring a stunning array of black and green accents, this resto-mod's thoughtfully appointed interior is both clean and impressive. At the center of the car, firm bench seats wear billet-trimmed leather. On the doors, 2-tone panels hang correct chrome handles under glossy, color-keyed frames. At the floor, fresh carpet floats thick floor mats between a Hurst shifter and billet foot pedals. At the front of the cockpit, a stainless-trimmed dash hangs modern telemetry next to Vintage Air conditioning and direct-fit audio. And the driver navigates the road through a stylish Corvette steering wheel, which laps a tilting column.
When it comes to comfort, performance and timeless style, nothing beats a storied GM classic. Thanks to a high-quality restoration, this awesome 210 wraps a solid drivetrain in a capable chassis and head turning aesthetics. If you're in the market for a cool cruiser that's fully detailed and ready to hit the road, welcome to the Chevrolet family!
