Body Off Built F100 Restomod Supercharged GT500 5.4L V8 6-spd Leather A/C
It's time to think outside the box! This awesome pickup, founded on original, 1960s Ford steel, was custom-built for the gearhead who loves the style of modern street rodding, but thinks red, yellow and black coupes are just a bit too ordinary. As it sits, this fully restored F100 is primed for cruising…. QUICK cruising, since the truck's supercharged GT500 drivetrain sends a whopping 561 horses to the rear wheels. Looking for a cool old hot rod to parade up and down Main Street? Yearning for a completely unique custom with solid reliability and great athleticism? Step right up and sit right down in your next classic!
TIME TO TURN HEADS!
Making the best of Ford's elegant mid-60s proportions, this tastefully restomodded F-Series splits a slick combination of white and copper 2-stage with a bright green pin stripe. That crisp pigment highlights a laser-straight body, which is the result of a ground-up, custom build that was finished by Roger's Rod & Customs of East Bethel, Minnesota. That clean body's top-notch metalwork is, from the outside of its panels, completely undetectable. And best of all, those panels remain mostly as Dearborn designed them, with nothing frenched, filled or altered in any awkward way.
That said, there are some cool details that really make this build pop! The swagger begins with a choice Charcoal grille, which hangs modern headlights between a Charcoal bumper, a custom cooling duct and white-trimmed parking lamps that reflect polished “FORD” lettering. Behind that grille, a shaved hood leads the eye to smoked glass, which centers monochromatic weatherstipping between polished wipers and polished mirrors. At the sides of that glass, the truck's seamless, “SHELBY” branded profile is devoid of everything but traditional door handles and factory lock cylinders. Inside that profile, an extruded aluminum bed hides custom wheel tubs amid polished skid strips and attractive carbon fiber overlay. And at the back of that bed, flush taillights frame a smoothed tailgate above a custom roll pan that replaces a deleted bumper.
PUTTING THE SHELBY IN F100
Gaze between this classic's custom inner fenders and you'll find 5.4 liters of supercharged Mod Motor that sends 561 horsepower directly to the rear wheels! Sourced from a 2010 Shelby GT500, that quick-spinning mill has been thoughtfully upgraded with Ford Racing electronics, a Ford Racing Cold Air Intake, a 2.6-inch supercharger pulley and a 2013 GT500 intercooler. Torque flows to a slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed, which was sourced from the same 2010 GT500 as the pickup's engine. That transmission spins a requisite 9-inch axle that's finished with big, 4.30 gears. That pumpkin pushes factory frame rails that have been methodically married to modern crossmembers. Those bones ride a No Limit Engineering independent front suspension, which leads a Fatbar 4-link rear suspension. Turns are achieved with power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by a traditional Wilwood master cylinder, which cinches 6-piston Wilwood calipers around 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors, and 4-piston Wilwood calipers around 12.25-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Large-diameter pipes join rowdy turbo mufflers with JBA long-tube headers. And everything rolls on attractive U.S. Mags Ramblers, which spin 235/45ZR18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports in front of 315/35ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
TIME TO ENJOY THE DRIVE!
In the '60s, trucks were all about comfort and utility – not DVDs, wireless and navigation systems. That's why it's so refreshing to hop in the cab of this purposeful but nicely appointed half-ton. The star of the show is a leather-clad TMI bench that, along with clean TMI door panels, definitely ups the style quotient. Those components coordinate nicely with a Shelby-signed dash, which props classy New Vintage Woodward telemetry on cool Vintage Air climate control. Convenience features include quick power windows and Shelby GT500-style pushbutton ignition. And the driver traces the asphalt through a long Hurst shifter, metal foot pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel that laps a polished, tilting column.
Looking for a unique classic that mixes a great restoration with unmatched style and instant fun? Then this Ford is your idea of a great time! It's spectacular from every angle. It plays to a level of nostalgia that everyone can appreciate. And, whether you're setting up at a show or just spending Saturday afternoon on the town, it's guaranteed to be the center of attention!
