Description

For most enthusiasts, the privilege of owning a classic car isn't about numbers or return on investment. It's about heading out on the weekend and having a little bit of fun. It's about making a statement and turning heads. It's about the excitement of putting the wind in their face and the roar of an American V8 at their back. That's why rides like this awesome Mustang resto-mod have such a loyal following. Sure, you'll probably see another one at the show. And it might not turn into a six-figure asset over the next decade. But, it's cool, it's stylish, it's unique and, most importantly, it provides a whole lot of enjoyment! Want to make it yours? Your friends at RK Motors Charlotte are happy to help!

FASTBACK FORM

The product of a detailed, ground-up restoration that's been fully sorted, this striking Mustang resto-mod is exactly the kind of classic that's perfect for causal hobbyists. The car's meticulous reboot reflects beauty in the form of vivid red two-stage. And that two-stage looks especially fetching under a roster of tailored details. At the front of the car, a traditional chrome bumper guards a traditional grille, halogen headlights and stainless-trimmed parking lamps. Behind that bumper, a timeless profile centers patriotic Mustang badging amid factory mirrors, ornate pillar louvers and factory door handles. Polished wipers clear a stainless-trimmed greenhouse. And at the back of the car, a second chrome bumper guards a GT fuel filler, traditional taillights and polished exhaust tips.

PERFECTING THE 351

Angle the hood and you'll find 351 cubic inches of rowdy Windsor V8 that's good for big power and even bigger performance! A stainless air cleaner funnels wind through 750cfm of coated 4-barrel carburetor, which drops a steady stream of fossils into a lightweight aluminum intake. Both air and fuel make their way to lightweight aluminum heads, which prop polished breathers on polished valve covers. Hot MSD 6AL ignition sequences spark through a Blaster coil, a Pro-Billet distributor and loomed Taylor plug wires. Billet March serpentine components spin an aluminum water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and modern power steering. That pump fills a clean Old Air Products radiator that's outfitted with spry puller fans. Spent gases are jettisoned through short Hedman Hedders. And overall, the car's sedate, Satin Black engine compartment is exceptionally well done, featuring great details like polished tanks, an electric choke and an old school FoMoCo washer bag.

BORN TO RUN

The bottom of this awesome Mustang is just as impressive as its slick exterior and tidy engine bay. Behind the mean motor, a mild stall converter kicks a smooth Ford AOD 4-speed, which turns a lightweight aluminum driveshaft. That tube twists a requisite 9-inch axle, which churns big, 3.73 gears inside a 4-link rear-clip that's finished with adjustable Aldan coil-overs. Opposite that clip, a Mustang II-style front-half follows a big sway bar with tubular control arms and two more adjustable Aldan coil-overs. Naturally, that kit is led by power rack-and-pinion steering. At the corners, power assisted Wilwood calipers squeeze drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust is handled by 2.5-inch, true-dual pipes that snake through great sounding Flowmaster mufflers. Power rolls through 17-inch American Racing Shelby Cobras, which spin 235/45 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 245/45 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs. And every one of this Ford's details, from its braided brake lines to its bright Holley fuel pump has been carefully planned and well-executed.

CUSTOM STYLE

Pop the doors and you'll find a customized Ultraleather interior that's both attractive and well-rounded. Crisp buckets, folding in the rear, stretch GT40-style grommets under comfort for four lucky passengers. A wood-trimmed dash hangs a full suite of MP Products telemetry above hardware for Old Air Products air conditioning. Like-new carpet bends a chrome shifter between handsome side panels that have been stitched to match the aforementioned seats. Modern, direct-fit audio bumps beats through cleanly integrated Virtual Reality Sound Labs speakers. And the driver spins a classy Deluxe Steering Wheel around a polished, tilting column.

There's only one problem with this awesome Mustang: if you want it, everyone else will too. Well-done resto-mods have become some of our fastest sellers as more and more enthusiasts discover the thrill of taking their dream cars to the street. With its classic good looks, tastefully updated interior and proven mechanicals, this Ford's appeal is universally strong. Call, click or visit http://www.RKMotors.com and hit the road in style!
