The fifth generation Mustang is widely considered one of the best looking cars produced in decades. With its bulging fenders and crisp lines, the design plays well into the current trend of nostalgic design and appeals to just about everyone who sees it. This low-mileage GT500 takes those crowd-pleasing traits and wraps them in two colors Mustangs arguably wear best – Performance White and Torch Red. Looking over this Ford's pristine body, it becomes obvious that its previous owners all had it tucked away somewhere for safe keeping. The factory paintwork is super glossy and there isn't a single problem area to be noted. That clean basecoat is accented by Shelby roof stripes, hearkening back to Cobras of yore. And as a practically brand new car, which sports a clean CarFax, panel fitment and overall finish is assembly line perfect!

Taking a closer look at the GT500, it's clear that design efforts focused on making the car look larger and more substantial than lesser Mustangs. Up front, a wide mouth grille sports a right-justified, and red-detailed, Cobra badge while bright halogen headlights fill out of the corners of the car. Amber turn signals are incorporated into the bumper cover, as are deeply inset driving lights that hang just above a composite chin spoiler. The engine bay is protected by a bulging aluminum hood which perfectly complements LLumar tinted greenhouse glass. The side profile wears large, red-detailed Cobra emblems, prerequisite “GT500” call-outs and textured composite side skirts. At the back of the car, segmented tail lights and a faux fuel filler ride between a low-rise spoiler, a subtle “SHELBY” script and an aggressive splitter. And overall, this Mustang's appearance is aggressive, attractive and something you certainly won't get tired of seeing in your garage.

The reborn GT500 celebrated one of the most successful partnerships in performance car history; and because of that, nothing was held back. Take a look under this Mustang's lightweight hood and you'll find a blown 'mod motor' that's heavily influenced by Ford's own GT super car. And what's better: by utilizing a cast iron block, a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, aluminum heads and dual overhead camshafts, this rowdy torque monster makes great muscle car sounds while providing surprising efficiency and a docile nature. Twist the key and the big V8 rumbles to life, sending baritone notes down a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system that breathes through an X-pipe crossover and dual stainless tips. Goose the throttle and a roots-style supercharger pumps 10 to 12 pounds of pressure into eight combustion chambers while zinging the engine towards redline. Deliver one serious jab at the go-pedal, and you'll find out why dictionaries are starting to list the name “Carroll Shelby” under the word “performance”. Aesthetically, this Ford's spotless bay looks assembly line fresh not featuring any of the flash you'd expect for such a pedigreed car and appearing, dare I say, a bit like a sleeper. But to anyone who knows anything about performance, the big blower at the top of the block, the small SVT badge and the silver “Powered by SVT” cam covers are a dead giveaway that they're looking at something real special!

Straight from Dearborn the D2C Mustang platform is a very capable foundation; and with a few upgrades from Ford's SVT division, it becomes a true force to be reckoned with! At the front of the car, a fully independent suspension makes good use of new shock valving, revised springs, performance tuned struts and giant 14 inch vented discs which are clamped by four piston Brembo calipers. And at the back of the car, a three link solid axle rear end makes good use of a familiar limited slip differential, revised springs, performance tuned shocks and two piston factory calipers which clamp equally impressive 12 inch discs. That tight suspension is aided by a heavy duty strut tower brace, stiffer sway bars, a standard antilock system, and standard traction control; all of which are very welcome if you push the car anywhere near its limits. Sending the engine's power to the ground is a slick shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed transmission which spins torque through a GT500 single speed driveshaft to big 3.73 gears. And all this proven hardware rides on an awesome set of black Shelby wheels which spin super sticky 255/35ZR20 front and 315/35ZR20 rear Nitto Invos around bright chrome lug nuts and Shelby branded center caps.

Peek through this Ford's dark tinted windows and a driver-friendly leather-wrapped interior looks back. Highly bolstered sport seats, which feature color-keyed red inlays, fit like a glove while a leather-clad steering wheel, which includes buttons for the car's cruise control, sports a snake on its hub. Behind that steering wheel, a chrome-trimmed instrument panel is stock Mustang, and features Ford's infinitely changeable MyColor dash lighting. That panel's graphite faces have a small SVT logo which serves as a programmable shift light that, along with aluminum accented pedals and an aluminum accented and red-stitched shifter, tips you off to the car's lofty pedigree. The dash around those instruments is some of Ford's best modern work, featuring a heritage inspired dual cowl design and appropriately matted trim. At the center of that dash, Ford's Shaker sound system hangs an AM/FM radio, a six disc CD changer, Sirius satellite radio and MP3 compatibility above knobs for factory climate control. At the sides of that dash, fade-free door panels feature large speakers below satin finished door handles and controls for the car's power windows, power door locks and power mirrors. At the bottom of those door panels, like-new carpet is protected by snazzy SVT sills and red-trimmed cobra mats. And naturally, everything in this factory fresh cockpit works exactly as it should.

The sale of this essentially new Mustang includes the original window sticker outlined above, the car's original owner's manual, paperwork for its Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, paperwork for its LLumar window tint and a clean CarFax report.

Even without its rarity factor, this red hot Mustang will satisfy any performance enthusiast! With plenty of power across the board and nearly universal appeal, it's hard to think of a more desirable American car; especially in this price range. Add in the Shelby name, limited production and low mileage, and this thoroughbred starts looking like a great investment. Want to own a showroom fresh copy of one of the baddest production Mustangs ever assembled? Don't miss your chance to claim this awesome 2007 Shelby GT500!
