As with any high caliber classic, this Chevy's paint and bodywork is first-rate throughout. Its original Cranberry Red finish was accurately duplicated, including correct black stripes that have been buried under glossy clear for killer, show car looks. That paint highlights a roster of original steel which, when combined with its clean frame, documents a history of little rust and no significant damage. That steel's reboot is extremely well done, featuring finish work that's befitting an ultra-rare show queen. And naturally, everything was carefully color-sanded and buffed to a mirror-like shine.

Many enthusiasts believe the '70 Chevelle introduced a host of excellent refinements which transformed the 'good' design of Chevrolet's '69 model into something 'great'. At the front of this red hot rocket you'll find a familiar crossbar grille which hangs a fresh and prominent “SS” emblem between a small “CHEVELLE” script, four stainless-trimmed T3s and a fresh chrome bumper. Above that bumper, a functional cowl induction hood anchors traditional lanyards and rebuilt hide-a-way wipers at the base of like-new glass that's framed by pristine stainless trim and a correct black top. At the base of that trim, subtle red and white inlayed “SS454” badges combine with straight stainless wheel frames, traditional chrome door handles and flashy chrome mirrors to add visual detail to the car's liquid smooth profile. In 1970, if you wanted a top-of-the-line Chevelle, you had two options. You could order an LS6 car and put up with a moody, uncivilized big block that didn't like running accessories. Displaying a familiar 3963512 casting number behind a correct “CRT” suffix stamp and matching partial VIN, this Chevelle's original 454 creates an impressive 360 horsepower and massive 500 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of the mighty mill, functional cowl induction funnels wind into a reliable Quadrajet carburetor that's threaded onto fresh stainless fuel lines. Below that carburetor, a sea of Chevy Orange paint spreads from the engine's traditional, cast iron intake and correct chrome valve covers all the way to its stamped steel oil pan and restored, cast iron exhaust manifolds. At the back of those manifolds, a correct points distributor shoots fire through eight Packard TV R Suppression Wires. And at the front of those valve covers, a convincing Delco battery topper complements a correct heavy duty radiator and correct plastic fan shroud. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevelle's fresh exterior paint transitions nicely into a satin black engine bay that features a very high level of detail. New GM hoses, with appropriate tower clamps, snake around clean Harrison air conditioning and a correct Frigidaire compressor. And all the familiar extraneous bits, like the car's Delco Moraine brake booster, factory-correct decals and optional underhood light are present, sorted and fully accounted for.

The theme of 'road ready' also extends under this fully restored Super Sport where you'll find super clean floors and a rebuilt, factory-accurate chassis. Behind the stout engine, a rugged Muncie 4-speed sends power to a 12-bolt, Posi-traction rear end that's equipped with correct 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a correct option F41 double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering, heavy duty sway bars and stiffer springs. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, accounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned exhaust manifolds dump spent gases into high performance, true-dual pipes that mix brutal Flowmaster mufflers with traditional, rear-mounted resonators. And power flows to the pavement via stylish Super Sport wheels and correct F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Wide Tread tires. The car's frame, free of any major damage, is painted black to match its solid satin floors. And, in keeping with its raucous 454, much attention has been paid to making sure everything under this Chevelle is clean, mean and ready to go!

Featuring a host of new components, and decked in classic black vinyl, this coupe's correctly restored interior is both comfortable and inviting. Its slick front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature embossed weave patterns that were designed to keep passenger's backs cool, show hardly any signs of wear. In front of those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs a deluxe Chevelle gauge cluster above correct climate controls and a snazzy 8-track stereo. Below that dash, fresh black carpet, which is protected by rugged rubber floor mats, centers a chrome Muncie shifter inside an attractive, stainless-trimmed console.
