Documented Restored Chevelle Super Sport 355 V8 4 Speed
How do you make a first generation Chevelle even better? Easy: dial its original small block up to 355 cubic inches and wrap every nut and bolt in a frame-off restoration.
When it came to straightening this cherry Chevy's body, perfection was clearly the goal. Every corner is sharp, every line is crisp and panel fitment is far superior to assembly line work. Covering those laser-straight panels is an attractive coat of Regal Red two-stage, which does a great job highlighting the body's lines. Accenting that red paint is fully restored trim, which furthers the car's classy demeanor. And all that color and detail work presents a high quality appearance that's completely free of careless flaws and major defects.
Under the hood, a clean engine bay mixes classic GM aesthetics with modern, resto-mod functionality. At the center of the bay, an original, 355 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 provides more than enough power to keep experienced drivers grinning and novices terrified. The mill's polished and finned air cleaner utilizes a big Holley 4-barrel to feed atomized fuel through an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. And the cylinders breathe through a clean set of ceramic coated headers that exhale into aggressive Flowmaster mufflers.
Behind that 355, an original Muncie 4-speed applies power to a sturdy 12-bolt rear end. Like any legitimate frame-off restoration, this A-Body features a completely rebuilt suspension. When it's time to slow down, four wheel power disc brakes do an excellent job quelling the engine's power. And at the corners of the floor, American Racing Torq Thrust IIs spin 215/70R15 Goodyear Aquatred 3s around spotless chrome spokes.
Between this Malibu's doors, a tastefully finished interior is every bit as functional as it stylish. Firm bucket seats are covered in fresh foam and new vinyl. From the driver's seat, a satin-spoke steering wheel spins beside a traditional chrome shifter. And behind that wheel, a factory speed and tachometer monitor the every second of the 355's output.
With reliable power, a rock-solid chassis and looks other A-Bodies dream of, this Chevelle is guaranteed to make its new owner happy. Here's to many trophies, many years and many more miles championing classic American muscle!
