Want a super cool cruiser that's ready to show? How about one with some of the best vintage styling ever draped over two doors and four tires? If the answer is a resounding “YES”, this 1957 Ford Custom 300 is exactly what you've been searching for! With its correct, 272 cubic inch V8, rugged Ford-O-Matic transmission and nostalgic green and white color combination, this classic is the perfect car for anyone who enjoys exploring the open road. If you're looking to add a little spice to your weekend routine, here's the perfect way to take Sunday drives to a whole new level!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Straight and subtle, the car's sculpted body reflects a picturesque combination of Colonial White and Willow Green 2-stage that creates a rich and classy demeanor. That pigment is highlighted by fresh chrome and new trim which illustrate the previous owner's show worthy attention to detail. That trim, like its solid foundation, was professionally worked by the techs at MASCAR Auto Body of Costa Mesa, California. And, if that name sounds familiar, it's because, in addition to being featured on Overhaulin', MASCAR has completed many of our "world class":http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/sold/1970-Ford-Mustang-Boss-302/134303#!/ "Mustang":http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/top_sales_2014/1968-Ford-Mustang-GT/134779#!/ "offerings":http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/top_sales_2011/1969-Ford-Mustang-Boss-302/134473#!/
ENGINE
Hoist this Ford's lightweight hood and you'll find a correct, 272 cubic inch Y-Block V8 that's been fully rebuilt to blueprint specs. Introduced in 1955, this bright red mill remained an option in blue oval staples well into the mid-1960s. Notable attributes include a silver air cleaner, “FORD” branded valve covers and an Edelbrock carburetor. From its Satin Black fenders to its Colonial White firewall, the car's bay presents a clean, mostly-authentic appearance. And best of all, the 190 horsepower engine fires instantly and sounds surprisingly beefy breathing through correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds and factory-style tail pipes.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
At the bottom of this Custom, a fully sorted undercarriage houses professionally restored floors that are bolted to lots of factory-correct components. Nice enough to show but still fully drivable, this is the perfect compromise for enthusiasts who like to display their classic AND enjoy occasional weekend getaways. Behind the Y-Block, a stalwart Ford-O-Matic 3-speed sends power to a factory Ford rear end. The car's front coil and rear leaf suspension has been upgraded with modern power steering. Braking is quick and adequate thanks to upgraded front discs and fresh rear drums. And on the outside of those binders, 15-inch TQ Rod Wheels spin 205/65 Yokohama AVID Touring radials around chrome lug nuts and polished center caps.
INTERIOR
2-tone paint is legendary for its characteristically '50s feel. And when paired with this 300's airy interior, it creates the perfect culmination of style and sophistication. Thanks to the car's high quality restoration, its fabric and vinyl seats will be livable for years to come. Front and center, retro gauges and a modern Custom Autosound stereo look great anchored to a stylish, silver-trimmed dash. In front of the driver, a banjo-style steering wheel spins a black rim around a tilting Ididit column. Clean carpet complements a tight headliner and scuff-free door panels. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk hides a 10-disc CD changer behind a full-size spare tire.
