BODYWORK/TRIM

Wearing shimmering Aston Martin Morning Frost Pearl under Pearl Shelby war paint, this spotless Mustang is nine inches wider than stock thanks to hours of custom bodywork. All the car's upgrades were performed by Galpin Auto Sports of Van Nuys, California: an outfit that undoubtedly knows how to churn out killer performance machines. And like most of our low-mileage, factory-fresh pieces, its appearance is as new in every conceivable way. The body's hand-fabricated sheetmetal is 100% straight, framing functional side scoops, sealed quarter windows and a lightweight Super Snake hood. Familiar factory bits, like traditional Shelby emblems, HID headlights and an extended deck spoiler give the build extra credibility while items like color-keyed mirrors, a color-keyed splitter and a color-keyed diffuser finish the look. And it all boils down to one hot future classic that feels tailored and substantial in comparison to its “lesser” counterparts.

ENGINE

Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford's legendary 'mod motor', this top-of-the-line GT500 utilizes a Ford Racing/Shelby supercharger to crank out an astonishing 750 horsepower! Front-and-center, the car's polished blower makes good use of an SVT cold air induction system, which marries clean aesthetics with excellent efficiency. At the sides of the engine, dynamic Shelby coil covers join body-matched cam covers and billet fluid caps to dress things up a bit. Those accessories are shaded by a polished strut tower brace, which complements polished fluid reservoirs and a polished battery brace. Naturally, the big mill proudly displays a small SVT badge that verifies its authenticity. Aesthetically, the spotless install features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly any signs of usage. And when you twist the eager engine's key, you become the lead composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister whines and octane-fueled roars!

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

As most performance car fans already know, this Mustang's SVT-tuned chassis is nothing short of excellent. Upgrades begin with a Ford Racing suspension that straightens the curves, progress to Shelby/Wilwood brakes that scrub big speed, and end with custom, 3-piece Forgiato wheels that keep power to the ground. Behind the smooth engine, a slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed sends power to a limited-slip differential and optional 3.73 gears. At the corners of the car, the aforementioned Wilwoods, which happen to be red-detailed, 6-piston units, squeeze drilled and slotted rotors. Turns come courtesy of Ford's super-efficient power-assisted steering. Exhaust flows through large-diameter pipes to Magnaflow mufflers and polished, quad-outlet tips. Naturally, Ford's standard ABS and traction control systems are present and accounted for. And all that first-class speed and agility rolls on the stylish Forgiato kicks, which spin 295/30ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros in front of 335/30ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros.

INTERIOR

Inside this Ford, bolstered Recaro seats, wrapped in raised grain Crimson Red hides, face a color-keyed, leather-wrapped steering wheel that's adorned with convenient thumb buttons. The dash is a familiar Mustang layout, which hangs satin-trimmed telemetry beside pushbutton ignition and integrated Ford Racing accessory gauges. Below those gauges, custom, 7-channel McIntosh audio combines 1,000 watts of power with 13 speakers to create pure sonic pleasure. Below that stereo, a short-throw shifter leads a leather-wrapped console that's detailed with a Shelby-branded lid. Beneath that console, premium carpet flows past thick floor mats and Shelby foot pedals on the way to lighted SVT sills. And naturally, all the luxuries you'd expect in a high dollar modern car are ready and waiting, including Cruise Control, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors and Remote Keyless Entry.
