Award Winning Rotisserie Restored Super Bee 440 Six Pack V8 4spd Air Grabber
It's no secret that RK Motors has worked extremely hard to become your headquarters for all kinds of world-class collector cars. But there are few offerings we love more than numbers-matching MoPars. You know, the kind of broad-shouldered bruisers that wrap buff, race-ready drivetrains in outrageous paint and fantastic marketing. Today, such cars are highly sought prizes for serious Chrysler collectors, and this national award-winning Coronet certainly doesn't disappoint. It's built with an original, 440 cubic inch Magnum V8. It's fitted with an original A833 4-speed transmission. It's the beneficiary of a professional rotisserie restoration. And if you're a fan of unique, old school muscle, it's what we would call a 'must-have classic'!
PLUM CRAZY COOL
The beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration that was completed by Magnum Auto Restoration of La Salle, Illinois, this Coronet currently presents much better than anything that left Chrysler's storied St. Louis assembly line. That ground-up reboot began when the car's intimidating body was stripped all the way to bare metal. That fully revealed foundation was strengthened with new floorpans, a new trunk pan and fresh quarter panels. That solid fuselage was bathed in glossy two-stage, which reflects correct code FC7 Plum Crazy Metallic. That timeless pigment was accented with a correct Black roof and correct Super Bee C-stripes. And today, fully sorted and ready to roll, this Dodge shines as a champion of both the 2013 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and the 2015 Mopar Nationals.
Thanks to a lot of money spent and a lot of bolts turned, this classic's crisp gaps and excellent panel alignment could make a modern muscle car blush. At the front of the car's body, a dramatic 'bumble bee wing' grille floats halogen headlights between small parking lamps and a vivid Super Bee emblem. At the sides of that grille, a faceted profile founds factory door handles and a chrome driver's mirror above dent-free wheel frames and a requisite Chrysler Pentastar. Above those panels, a Ramcharger hood anchors discreet “440” scripts in front of like-new glass that's traced in bright stainless. And, opposite that hood, a Dodge-stamped valence hangs a second Super Bee emblem between traditional taillights, a broad bumper and polished stainless exhaust tips.
SIX PACK SPEED
Yank this Dodge's correct hood pins and you'll find a 440 cubic inch RB V8 that was professionally rebuilt by Opel Engineering of Streamwood, Illinois. At the top of that 390 horsepower monster, a Hemi Orange air cleaner hides a correct trio of Holley carburetors. At the base of those carbs, a cast iron intake rides between cast iron heads and traditional, stamped steel valve covers. At the front of those covers, a reliable points distributor shoots spark through Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables. And at the sides of that distributor, iron exhaust manifolds funnel spent gases in to great sounding, true-dual tail pipes. Aesthetically, this Coronet's Plum Crazy engine bay is very impressive, from its correctly placed decals all the way to its old school washer tank. A great combination of new and reproduction pieces ensure the car's operation is both reliable and fun, with items like a correct radiator, a MoPar red cap battery and a Chrysler-branded voltage regulator making sure every mile is safely traveled. And, as expected, a matching 149901 partial VIN joins a correct 2536430 casting number and August 9th, 1969 casting date to verify the mill's status as original and numbers-matching.
AUTHENTIC MOPAR MUSCLE
Land this Bee on a lift and a correctly textured undercarriage, complete with primer, undercoating and Plum Crazy overspray, rises in to view. The car's original engine spins power to an original A833 4-speed that's authenticated by a matching 149901 partial VIN and an A833 (PP833) built on October 3rd, 1969 (2989) assembly stamp. That 18-spline gear slinger, professionally rebuilt by Passon Performance of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania, applies power to a correct Dana 60 axle, which spins a tough Sure Grip differential around correct 3.54 gears. Below that proven drivetrain, a familiar Chrysler suspension has been completely rebuilt to include correct drum brakes. Exhaust is handled by 2.5-inch, free-flowing pipes, which jettison cooked dinosaurs through an H-shaped crossover and factory replacement mufflers. And power meets the pavement through 15-inch steelies, which spin 235/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around redline center caps.
RESTORED TO RIGHT
Open this coupe's solid doors and experience a cockpit where legendary MoPar power melds seamlessly with a no frills, no-nonsense driving environment. At the center of the car's floors, firm bench seats wear correctly pleated covers. In front of those seats, an expertly restored dash frames rebuilt Rallye telemetry and Chrysler Solid State audio. At the sides of that dash, tasteful door panels hang predictable armrests under bright stainless trim and glossy black toppers. At the bottom of those panels, tight carpet frames a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. In front of the driver, an ornate Rallye Wheel laps a monochromatic, fratzog-branded horn button. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk is complete all the way down to its fresh decal, plaid mat, Plum Crazy Metallic wheel and matching spare tire.
