Description

What happens when you take a timeless Chevrolet body, bolt it to a custom chassis, drop in a modern Chevrolet V8 and pile on a list of mind-blowing parts? You get one incredible classic that instantly becomes the center of attention wherever it goes! Wrapping timeless aesthetics around a custom leather interior and a level of detail that requires multiple looks to fully comprehend, this sweet 210 is a compilation of top-notch components from some of the best names in the business. And what's better: it's a fully sorted cruiser that was built, above all else, to be driven and enjoyed. If you're the kind of enthusiast who wants an impressive ride that you can hop in, turn the key and sail some blacktop with, your chariot has arrived!

BUILT FOR KEEPS

The beneficiary of a professional, ground-up restoration that was completed in early 2021 by the pros at Taylors, North Carolina's Muscle Car Accessories, this choice tri-five is a refreshing take on a storied classic. Naturally, a head-turning profile needs head-turning paint, which manifests as svelte black two-stage. And today, this legendary Chevy rolls as one razor-sharp road rocket that's poised to show and raring to go!

As a collector car enthusiast, you really can't go wrong with any '50s Chevy. But many folks cherish the prodigal swagger of the division's '57 model. At the front of this five-seven, a classy Bel Air grille hangs a colorful crest and clear parking lamps between modern headlights and an expressive bumper. At the top of that grille, a rolled hood centers Bel Air-spec “Chevrolet” lettering and a requisite Bel Air “V” in front of familiar Speer Bullet Spoons. A dark-tint greenhouse looks great behind polished mirrors, polished wipers and polished frames. At the base of those frames, an electric antenna joins traditional door handles to reflect straight Bel Air Speed Spears that, garnished with gold Bel Air emblems, parallel gold Bel Air louvers. And at the back of the car, a second expressive bumper frames crisp taillights and a second Bel Air “V”.

THE BEST POWER

Pop this sedan's sinuous hood and you'll find 6.2 liters of divine GM small block. Sourced directly from a fifth-generation Camaro, that trusty LS3 churns a respectable 426 horsepower straight from the showroom -- and that's before factoring a full rebuild that included the addition of top-shelf aftermarket internals! At the top of the block, a remote K&N filter slinks breeze into a polished tube that's aligned with a proven GM throttle body. Proven GM fuel injection lines a lightweight GM intake, which feeds rectangular-port L92-style heads. Hot AC Delco plug wires snake around coated Hedman Husler Hedders. A Texas Speed & Performance cam works well with Texas Speed & Performance pistons and Texas Speed & Performance lifters. There's a beefy PRC radiator that's slid between a polished support, polished tanks and chrome-trimmed SPAL puller fans. A polished RAB Performance serpentine drive spins a polished alternator opposite a coated AC compressor. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the fresh mill rolls in a smooth, body-matched frame that's finished with niceties like a Holley oil pan, billet hood supports and quality Wilwood brake components.

TRADITION PLUS ABILITY

Park this 210 on a lift and you'll find solid floorpans that frame a roster of aftermarket upgrades in a crisp coat of Satin Black skin. A tough 6L80 6-speed bridges the gap between a custom Circle D Specialties torque converter and a custom Driveshaft Shop driveshaft. That tube spins a sturdy 9-inch axle, which pushes a full JW Rod Garage chassis. At the front of that chassis, tubular control arms and a big sway bar join double-adjustable Viking coil-overs to frame power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. Opposite that rack, a modern 4-link makes excellent use of more tubes, a second sway bar and two more double-adjustable Viking coil-overs. At the corners, power-assisted Wilwood calipers clamp a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs traverse large-diameter pipes, which roar through mean turbo mufflers. And torque transitions to pavement through chrome American Racing Rodders, which spin 245/45ZR18 Nitto NT555 G2s in front of 285/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 G2s.

TIME TO CRUISE

Behind the solid-closing doors you'll find a custom leather cockpit that, thanks to the pros at JBs Interiors of Fairfax, South Carolina, wraps tons of classic flash in miles of modern flair. Power-operated buckets, cribbed from a 2017 Cadillac, have been fully reshaped and carefully restitched. A color-keyed dash hangs ball-milled billet around Bluetooth-capable audio, controls for Vintage Air conditioning and tasteful modern telemetry. A sculpted, full-length console centers a short shifter in front of buttons for a full suite of power windows. Those windows slide behind custom side panels, which shade plush carpet with bright LEDs and billet handles. The driver spins a polished steering wheel around a polished, tilting column. And naturally, this Chevy's trunk has been customized to match!

Since so many tri-five enthusiasts seem to be enamored with Bel Air convertibles, this crisp coupe isn't exactly something you'll see at every show. And its modern suspension, stylish looks and proven Chevrolet power are sure to get you noticed no matter where you go. After all, is there anything better than an old school crowd-gatherer that barks through a rowdy V8 and stares through outrageous aesthetics? We think not! So, come on in and pick up your turn-key hot rod.
