Here at RK Motors Charlotte we sell the coolest vehicles on the road seven days a week. And even if trucks and SUVs aren't really your cup-o-tea, you can't deny the appeal of an iconic Jeep. In an automotive market where International doesn't exist, the Bronco was broke and killed, and the Land Cruiser and Tahoe have been watered down and forgotten, it's nice to see at least one automotive division which still sales a showroom full of purpose-built SUVs. This one owner 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara wraps a whole roster of luxuries and durable modern equipment in a highly desirable color combination which has only seen 8,009 sunny day miles. If you're in the market for an off-road adventurer which can also double as a breezy daily driver, this tough and capable Jeep is your ticket!
Based on Chrysler's fresh JK platform, the third generation Wrangler is a vehicle that was essentially designed to do two things: perform great in the woods and be a blast to drive. During its relatively short time on the market, it has proven to be the number one choice for adventurists who enjoy everything from hardcore rock crawling to a Sunday picnic on the back roads of their favorite state park. This low mileage 2008 Wrangler, which was purchased new from Cross Chrysler-Jeep in Louisville, Kentucky and fastidiously maintained by one owner throughout its entire three year existence, is in exceptional showroom-fresh condition. It's tough looking body is covered in original black basecoat/clearcoat paint that still looks rich and presents a slick, glossy finish; and its dent free square panels present factory straight gaps which are narrow and exact. Today, looking perfectly tailored onto its high riding chassis, this hot Jeep radiates a top notch build quality which rivals much more expensive and much more specialized eye candy here in our RK Motors Charlotte showroom.
There's a reason they call the Wrangler an icon, and much of that has to do with its 100% traditional Jeep styling. Up front, Jeeps signature seven-slot grille is framed by a chrome “Jeep” emblem and familiar round headlights and parking lights. Below that grille, a durable front bumper incorporates clear, round driving lights between sturdy tow hooks and an angled skid plate. Above the grille, a rolled hood holds a centered grab bar and plastic tie downs in front of a clear factory windshield which is free of water spots and features light factory tinting. At the top of that windshield, a canvas top can be substituted for a three-piece 'Freedom' modular hardtop which adds a little class to the overall shape and some much needed winter drivability to the open cockpit. And at the bottom of the windshield, “Wrangler” and “Sahara” call outs are complemented by a driver's side “Trail Rated” badge and a passenger's side antenna. At the sides of the body, painted Sahara fenders are accented by small round marker lights and connected by durable plastic running boards; and at the top of the body, Jeep vent visors hang above removable doors which feature durable door handles and large rearview mirrors. At the back of the SUV, a full size spare tire that's mounted on a factory 18 inch aluminum wheel sits in front of a vertically hinged tailgate which is bordered by the first new Wrangler tail light design in 20 years. Below that tailgate, a second silver bumper displays no scratches and presents a like-new finish; and above the tailgate, a third windshield wiper clears a hinged rear window which rides above a clear center high mount stop lamp and an exposed plastic fuel filler.
Pop the hood on this great looking Jeep and you'll find a proven Chrysler EGH 3.8 liter V6 which turns a 9.6 to 1 compression ratio into 202 horsepower and 237 lb./ft. of torque. It's not a grossly overpowered mill, but rest assured, this stalwart Chrysler engine has enough torque to get this capable 4x4 out of any tight situation or tow just about any toy you can imagine. And thanks to correct gearing, this Wrangler is a very versatile machine that can perform well off road and return good fuel economy with ease. Aesthetically, the engine bay is super clean and, in addition to featuring completely fresh looking electrical components, still displays most of its showroom luster on all of its plastic pieces. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that since this engine bay is complete from its original hood insulation all the way to its Mopar belts and factory hoses, nothing besides the dipsticks and oil cap has even been touched since it left the assembly line. This is one of those rare situations where the best compliment I can provide is “like-new” because as it sits right now, this V6 appears to have just driven out of the dealership.
With 10.2 inches of ground clearance, and 44.3 degree approach and 40.4 degree departure angles this buff SUV can crawl up most trails and ford most creeks without any drama at all. Behind the brawny V6, an optional 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to a rugged Jeep Command-Trac NV241 part-time two-speed transfer case and an optional Trac-Loc limited slip differential. Power steering is a welcome addition when you're driving something with tries this big, and four wheel power disc brakes which consist of vented front and solid rear discs combine with a standard off-road tuned anti-lock brake system to bring the SUVs mass to a quick stop. Jeeps are known for their tough suspensions, and this Sahara is no different with an upgraded heavy duty suspension which includes solid live axles at both ends, front and rear stabilizer bars, a complete skid plate package, a built in stability control system and standard traction control. The bottom of this Wrangler looks as pristine as you would expect a clean, lightly used SUV to look and features complete factory hardware, an aluminized factory exhaust system and fresh factory shocks. At the corners, awesome looking 18 inch machine faced aluminum wheels roll gnarly 255/70 Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain tires around satin finished “Jeep” center caps.
Inside this Wrangler you'll find a spacious and comfortable environment with enough room to be the vehicle of choice for weekend getaways. The Sahara exclusive 'yes essential' front buckets and rear bench still feel firm to the touch and are wrapped in a sporty gray fabric that seems pretty weather resilient and shows no wear at all. In front of the driver, a rolled and textured dash props small speakers just inside of the front window and holds crystal clear gauges next to an optional climate control system and a large screen navigation system which includes an AM/FM Sirius compatible Infinity seven speaker sound system and DVD player. At the sides of the seats, durable black plastic door panels hold cool door handles with integrated locks above plastic diamond plate storage bins and bulky arm rests with built in power window switches. Connecting the driver to the road is a silver-spoked and “Jeep” branded steering wheel, a black shifter for the automatic transmission and a console mounted shifter for the four wheel drive system. Behind the cockpit, a bright and airy cargo area is finished in like-new black carpeting and holds a subwoofer for the Infinity sound system.
Documentation included with this Jeep consists of an original owner's manual, original warranty booklets and the few service receipts that it's managed to rack up during only 8,009 miles of road time.
This 2008 Wrangler is a very capable SUV that mixes all the functionality of its predecessors with a list of technology which has made it a favorite among suburbanites and outdoor adventurers alike. And with only 8,009 miles on its odometer, it's a showroom fresh bargain which barely even has any break-in miles and can be purchased free and clear of the high price and high depreciation of a 2012 model. If you're looking for a tough daily driver that can also provide a little weekend fun, this Jeep is for you!
What Customers Are Saying
I have the unique experience of buying and also selling a car from RK Motors.
It is very difficult and risky to evaluate a car on-line. I have heard many stories about people buying on-line and the cars did not turn out as advertised. This is where RK Motors works very hard to represent their cars as accurately as possible. They also do a great job of marketing their cars.
Their pictures give you the ability to look at details on any part of the cars you feel necessary. They are also willing to answer any questions you have as accurately as possible. They removed the all the doubt for me to purchase one of their cars.
I visited their showroom which is filled with high-level cars. Their sales staff were very professional and answered as many questions as they could for me.
When I decided to sell my car, I called RK and ask them how we could do this. They were very helpful and lead me step by step through this process. The thing that impressed me most was even though I purchased the car from them, they would not take my word on the quality of the car. Only after they did their evaluation were we able to finalize our deal. They took all new pictures and did a great job of marketing my car. They were able to sell my car quickly and kept me well informed through the entire process. We answered any questions the new owner had hopefully he will enjoy his car as much as I did.
I would highly recommend RK Motors to anyone buying or selling their cars.
