Description

In a showroom full of trophy winning street rods and investment grade muscle cars, there's something to be said about a fun hot rod, like this 1930 Ford Sedan, which has been built purely for the purpose of enjoyment. Sure, you can take it to a show and set it up next to the rest of the guys who just stare at their cars all day. Or you can modify its all steel body into something that, for better or most often for worse, places appearance above driver enjoyment at all costs. But as it sits, this Ford, with its modern, reliable V8 and classy, unaltered body is built to cruise and enjoy. And what's even better: you can have all that enjoyment for less than what some people are paying for showroom fresh mini-vans! So, if you're looking for a cool old hot rod to parade up and down Main Street this summer, we have your car!

It appears that this hot Ford sedan's smooth and solid steel body was super clean before its complete rebuild even started. But nonetheless, it was subjected to a full restoration which resulted in laser straight lines, a spectacular coat of bright blue urethane and a glossy clearcoat shell. One look down its sides reveals high quality workmanship that is top notch in every way; and a close look at its classy body panels reveals even surfaces that are free of ripples and major imperfections. Today, in its expertly restored state, this car is a banner show piece that celebrates the fusion of some of Ford's greatest design work and some of the best modern mechanical components money can buy.

When I'm at street rod shows amid a sea of brightly colored, over-the-top creations, I often find myself asking: “Why mess with a good thing?” And it's refreshing to see a restoration like this '30 Ford that, unlike most chopped up, modified or permanently altered pre-war cars, presents a clean, all steel body that is accentuated by trim and detail work which highlight its original virtues. At the front of the car, a chrome headlight bar props modern tri-bar headlights, which include trick integrated turn signal bulbs, in front of a correct stainless steel grille and a satin capped hood hinge. Behind that grille, full length fenders prop a louvered, four piece hood below a like-new windshield which is cleared by a short stainless wiper and framed by hammer finished steel trim. And at the top of the car, a ribbed steel roof hangs dark smoked glass above stylish chrome side mirrors, traditional chrome door handles, old school bear claw door hinges and stainless trimmed running boards. At the back of the car, an integrated fuel door rides at the side of an interior mounted center high mount stop lamp; and a familiar polished aluminum tag bracket is centered between correct chrome Ford Duolamp tail lights. Overall, this classic Ford street rod is in outstanding physical condition; and its timeless style is a testament to why these cars are so beloved by so many in the car enthusiast community.

Take a look under this sedan's traditional four piece steel hood and you'll find a thoroughly modern 302 cubic inch Ford small block V8 which is painted a pleasing shade of dark blue and decked in a nice combination of chrome and polished accessories. At the top of the engine, a polished air cleaner funnels wind into a chrome Edelbrock four barrel carburetor which is bolted to an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake. At the sides of that intake, factory heads prop great looking Ford Motorsports valve covers above refinished exhaust manifolds; and at the front of that intake, an aftermarket points distributor sends fire from a Flame Thrower coil to red Mallory Pro Sidewinder plug wires. Cooling is handled by a high performance aluminum radiator which sends water past a quick spinning electric fan and a chrome overflow tank to a complete set of chrome flex hoses. And charging is provided by a fresh V-belt which spins a slick chrome alternator between a full set of billet pulleys and a blue Sanden AC compressor. As with its highly detailed exterior panels, the engine bay of this sharp '30 Ford is very well-done and very impressive to look at. And everything from the stainless hood brace to the chrome tubing on its heater hoses is fully sorted and ready to hit the road!

Underneath this cool cruiser you'll find a modern chassis that's fully sorted and ready to go! A rugged 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to a stout 10 bolt rear end which does an excellent job of transferring all of the small block's power to the pavement. And all the car's excellent hardware is bolted to a solid frame which is sandwiched between stainless hardware and clean floor pans. Quick stops are provided by familiar front disc and rear drum brakes. And a killer soundtrack is provided by a 2.5 inch true dual exhaust system which runs from the car's refinished manifolds to great sounding Xlerator turbo mufflers and mandrel bent turn downs. At the corners of the car, classic 15 inch Cragar S/S wheels spin 215/65 front and 235/75 rear General Altimax RT tires. And everything from this hot rod Ford's solid floor pan to its blue oil pan is clean and ready to hit the road.

Take a look inside this awesome Ford and you'll find a spectacular tan leather interior that is definitely one of the main highlights of the car. Plush, custom pleated seats feature power adjustable lumbar support under great looking blue accents which perfectly match the car's exterior paint. At the sides of those seats, custom, four color leather door panels, which are equipped chrome window cranks, chrome door handles and integrated stainless trim, hang between custom leather side panels. And below those seats, like-new black carpet and tan leather trim anchors a long Lokar shifter between a chrome emergency brake handle and polished foot pedals. At the front of the car, a painted and leather wrapped dash hangs a billet gauge pod with a full set of VDO gauges between hardware for the car's air conditioning, a stylish billet aluminum rearview mirror, and a chrome trimmed tilt windshield. At the top of the car, a custom stainless trimmed headliner begins at a modern, MP3 compatible Pioneer CD player and flows all the way to the rear window. And at the back of the car, two large speakers, which do a great job of dispersing the CD player's rich sound, ride below more custom tan leather panels. Rounding out this first rate interior is a polished, four spoke steering wheel which spins a color keyed rim around a color keyed tilt steering column.

You really can't ask for a better cruiser than this 1930 Ford. With an unbeatable combination of authentic good looks and modern technology, it's the perfect car for any enthusiast who wants a top-notch build without spending two years and six figures achieving it. If you're looking for a nice car for a great price, don't let this opportunity pass you by!
