Description

One of the coolest things about the classic car hobby is the amount of passion and creativity enthusiasts put into builds that can sometimes span decades. And since all of us here at RK Motors Charlotte are gearheads in one form or another, we know the kind of dedication a high dollar project takes. That said; it seems every time we think we've seen it all, another completely amazing car comes through the doors and just knocks our socks off! This 1967 Chevrolet Nova is a professionally assembled stunner that wraps a 540 horsepower supercharged V8 in a supple, leather-lined interior and impressive custom paint. It's an excellent piece for the enthusiast who's looking for sheer performance or an awesome showpiece. And best of all, it can be driven and enjoyed for less than half its six-figure build cost! Forget spending three years and over $200K on a ground-up project, just call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte and become the proud new owner of this killer Chevy II!

Admit it, when you see a badass bowtie muscle car with giant rear tires, all is right with the world; at least for the five seconds the car takes to roar out of sight. And what better way to make a classic bowtie even more appealing than wrapping it in a stunning coat of high quality paint? This Nova's solid body panels display good fit and finish, and its striking two-stage is a brilliant combination of Copper and black basecoat which reflects a glossy, wet-look shine. The car's awesome appearance is undoubtedly the product of a high dollar, professional restoration. And today, it sits as one very well done pavement scorcher that's been built to exacting specifications via months of skilled workmanship and hours of thorough detailing!

The handsome, sharp-edged lines of the Chevy II are typical 60s conservative. And because they're so appealing to look at and so specific in nature, they've continued to gain significant popularity as car design becomes more and more homogenized. At the front of this hardtop, a bright chrome bumper hangs clear parking lamps below modern tri-bar headlights and a black Super Sport grille. At the top of the car, a snake-themed cowl induction hood leads the eye to shaved windshield wipers and like-new glass that's framed by straight stainless trim and fresh chrome drip rails. At the sides of the car, a clean, modernist profile is composed of stock fenders that feature subtle “Copperhead” scripts, shaved doors that feature miniscule mirrors and widened quarters that feature dynamic stripe detail. And at the back of this hardtop, vertical, chrome trimmed tail lights illuminate a second chrome bumper below a picturesque, “Copperhead” branded decklid cove.

A one handed hoist of the car's lightweight hood reveals a fully detailed, 383 cubic inch small block V8 that, thanks to a polished Vortech supercharger, makes roughly 540 rear wheel horsepower! At the top of that cool-running block, a Holley four-barrel, which sources fresh wind from a grille-mounted filter cone, funnels a perfect mixture of air and fuel into a ceramic coated intake manifold. At the sides of that intake, polished and custom-detailed valve covers reflect ceramic coated, long-tube headers. At the back of those headers, a familiar HEI distributor sends fire through Accel Hi Temp SuperStock Spiral Core wires. In front of those wires, a full set of aluminum pulleys spin a flashy chrome alternator opposite a fully polished AC compressor. And in front of that AC compressor, a polished aluminum radiator, which is topped by a gnarly “COPPERHEAD” script, sends water through chrome corrugated hoses. While this spectacular engine's main purpose is to go straight at a very high rate of speed, it still has a lot of impressive eyeball appeal. Great looking details such as body-matched supercharger paint, braided hoses, trick dipsticks and an engine turned fuel pressure gauge lend a nice, finished look. And flawless two-stage, which perfectly matches the mill's bright copper block, flows from the car's exterior panels onto a smoothed firewall, custom inner fenders and a straight core support.

Underneath this impressive classic you'll find a no compromises drivetrain that perfectly complements solid, undercoated floorpans and a long roster of serious speed equipment. Behind the car's hot small block, a GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed, which was sourced from Total Cost Involved, executes quick, efficient shifts on the heels of wheel stand-inducing launches. Behind that transmission, a body-matched driveshaft spins a stalwart Ford nine inch rear end that's equipped with reasonable 3.50 gears. Holding that awesome transmission off the ground is a high quality Heidts suspension which hangs sturdy tubular control arms and modern coil over shocks at the sides of a power rack and pinion steering system. Holding that awesome rear end off the ground is a body-matched, 4-link back half which makes good use of giant wheel tubs and two more modern coil over shocks. And holding all that track-ready hardware off the ground is a sweet set of color-keyed Budnik wheels which spin 26x8.00R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsmans in front of 29x18.00R20 Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. Naturally, that impressive drivetrain's momentum is countered by an equally impressive Wilwood four wheel disc brake system that hangs a combination of billet and body-matched calipers at the ends of high quality braided hoses. The engine's ceramic coated headers flow into a stainless true dual exhaust system that pushes spent gases through welded, single chamber Flowmasters, massive side pipes and giant chrome tips. Everything from this Chevy's polished transmission pan to its body-matched inner fenders is fully sorted and ready to pound the pavement. And there's even a sound-activated strobe system that pulses with the cammed motor to ensure you'll make a grand entrance!

Inside this vicious Nova you'll find a clean and inviting interior that's a nice combination of quarter mile safety features and open road conveniences. During the car's build, a leather-wrapped roll cage was installed around high-backed, saddle leather seats that feature bright snake-themed inserts. Between those seats, a custom, snake-branded and leather-wrapped console centers a satin B&M Pro Bandit shifter between LED courtesy lighting and a detailed sound system remote. In front of that console, a custom, body-matched dash hangs a full set of Auto Meter Phantom gauges beside a modern Pioneer CD player and controls for the car's Vintage Air Gen IV climate system. At the sides of that dash, custom leather panels hang painted armrests, which are backed by LED courtesy lights, behind billet door handles and billet window cranks. Below those panels, fresh black carpet perfectly contrasts saddle floor mats and chrome-trimmed foot pedals. Opposite that carpet, a custom overhead console, which is wrapped around two more Auto Meter Phantom gauges, is framed by more LED courtesy lighting. In front of the driver, a polished tilt steering column spins a handsome half-wrap steering wheel. And behind the passengers, leather-faced fender tubs anchor Kenwood eXcelon speakers over a leather-lined trunk that's complete with a custom-detailed fuel cell.

This sweet '67 Nova pro-tourer is certain to be the star of the show anywhere you go! It's a spectacular build which features custom comfort and a modern drivetrain that's ready to hit the road for Friday night cruises, Saturday morning poker runs or Sunday afternoon shows. If you're looking for a car that has serious performance to back up its killer good looks, this Chevy II belongs in your driveway!
